Events - June 2009 |
|
Nothing to do with us - apart from the fact that we like cats (and Shakespeare, I guess) and Zahir asked us to publicise this - here's an opportunity to see one of Shakespeare's most popular works in lovely outdoor surroundings and, at the same time, help a very worthwhile charitable cause.
Please do not contact us about this event, as we are not affiliated to Cats Protection in any way and cannot assist with queries or tickets.

Charity Cats
Protection will host a breathtaking open air performance of Shakespeare’s A
Midsummer Night’s Dream in June.
The outdoor show – by international award winning theatre company Illyria – will
be held in the beautiful grounds of the charity’s National Cat Centre in the
Ashdown Forest.
Making the most of some of Sussex’s most stunning scenery, the event promises to
be a magical evening for anyone who loves Shakespeare, cats or the countryside.
Cats Protection’s Events Organiser Julie Sharp said: “The show will be set
beside a lake within the Ashdown Forest – what more enchanting setting is there
for A Midsummer Night’s Dream? People are more than welcome to bring a picnic
and a low-backed chair or rugs and cushions to really make the most of the
evening.”
The event is being held as part of Paws Outdoors, a month-long campaign to raise
money for Cats Protection by doing what cats love most – relaxing outside.
The performance will be held on Thursday, June 18 at Cats Protection’s National
Cat Centre in Chelwood Gate, Sussex.
Gates will open at 6pm with ample free parking onsite. The Adoption Centre, Top
Cat Café and Cats Protection shop will all be open to visitors prior to the
start of the performance at 7.30pm. Running time is approximately 2 hours with a
20 minute interval.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £9 for children
(under sixteen years), please call 01825 741900 to book in advance or online at
