Just the one planned event this month. It would have been two, as we traditionally always supply a team or two for the Annual Findon Village Hall Quiz. Always, except when - like this year - there is absolutely nobody available on the night in question. Still, there was a night out, once again organised by Clare M:
Cissbury Players Skittle
Evening, The Black Horse, Findon, 16th October 2009
Members of the Cissbury Players enjoyed
a tame skittle evening on Friday 16th October. Attendees partook of a hot and
cold buffet comprising of sticky sweet chilli chicken wings, saucy BBQ spare
ribs, Vegetable and BBQ chicken Nachos, garlic bread, sea-salted fries and a
selection of sandwiches.
After the buffet and seconds the group were split into 4 teams: The Winners, The
Unknowns, The Killers and Team Allen. Games played in best of 3 matches had team
Winners and Killers head to head in a play off to the end. With excellent
numbers from Gareth and other team members, The Winners took to the podium as
the ultimate "skittlers".
Sadly some of the members left the fun of the skittle alley at about 10pm but a
robust group of skittlers stayed on to play individual matches. As it turned out
Clare-Louise had got worse going from the bottom 4th place to last, with 10
points, whereas Zahir, also from the bottom 4 rocketed to first place with a
score of 18. Other players Dave, Debs, Sam, Nick V and Carol all had excellent
scores and there was an extraordinary amount of laughter.
Thanks to all the members who attended the Friday night event. "Lots of Fun for
Everyone".
