Take Part

It is a sad fact that, as time goes on, the popularity of the stage - particularly at amateur level - seems to be on a bit of a decline. We quite often hear, with regret, of groups folding, having given up the unequal struggle to keep a viable membership going. People seem to be busier these days, and it's not as if there's any shortage of other forms of entertainment to fill up any leisure time left over. That is rather a shame, because there is a lot of satisfaction to be found in being part of a group, in participating in something like a stage show and - ultimately - in presenting it to the paying public.

There are many ways to get involved with the Cissbury Players,
as an active member on stage and behind the scenes, or as a Patron.

Membership costs a mere £20 per annum
and entitles you to take part in any and all group activities,
on, off or completely away from the stage.

Patronage costs an even more meagre £15 per annum
and entitles you to a free ticket for each production run,
as well as regular newsletters and invitations to attend group social activities.

For anyone wishing to "tread the boards", there are always opportunities to do so.
We stage three productions a year and need casts for all of them!
Have a look at our previous productions to see what you could be getting up to.

For anyone who wants to be involved outside of the spotlights,
there are numerous non-acting opportunities including:
front-of-house, lighting, sound, props, set design and construction,
prompting, wardrobe and even producing/directing.
The pictures below should give an idea of what some of these entail!
