12: 2003 - Slaughterhouse

Another play, another box. Not that we hadn't done other things in between - just that those tended to be the ones where no pictures were taken. in retrospect, it seems almost odd to have gone to so much effort to set up the stage and then not even point a camera at it. Still, production week is always a busy time and one simply doesn't always think of these things.

Rather like "The Anniversary", this was a set that was designed to reflect the inhabitant's vanity. Although in this case, that was an ageing horror movie star and his collection of memorabilia. It was all a very Hammer horror concept, with the decor designed to create that quintessentially English eccentric feel, the perfect setting for multiple deranged murders by a villain who eventually gets eaten by piranha. Fortunately,  that bit takes place offstage...
